Might as Well Face it, I’m Addicted to…

I’m truly not addicted to Robert Plant songs. Honest – his videos used to annoy me.

However, Ree, over at My Life as a Hotfessional, just told me we were playing tag, and apparently I’m “it.”

I need to do the following:

List 5 current addictions and then tag 2 people.

Hmm…

1. Blogging. Yes, I have a hard time not visiting my blog for a day or two. I’m working on correcting that issue and maybe I’ll take a small “blogcation” in the near future. We shall see. If y’all would just tell me to “shut-up, already,” I might be more willing to part from my blog. Instead I get such nice visitors who tell me they love seeing the pictures and enjoy reading the thoughts I spit out.

2. Obsessing over my peeling nails. I know I haven’t mentioned them since a few weeks ago, but the peeling of my fingernails due to hand, foot and mouth disease, still grosses me out completely. Especially when people think my nails look this way due to me having an issue with biting or picking at them. The current count – two nails look like I have bitten them almost down to the cuticle, my one thumb nail just looks like the entire top is peeling off, and two others nails have varying levels of peeling about half-way up the nails. Little Dude’s are still peeling, but his toe nails look worse than his finger nails. And, since kids’ nails are so thin, it doesn’t seem to be nearly as much of an issue with him.

3. Eating fruit. I’m absolutely committed to eating at least two raw fruits a day right now. Usually an apple and a banana. This is all part of my effort to be healthier. Oh, and I’m down between 9-11 lbs, now. It depends on the time of day.

4. Counting calories. See #3. I do get a break on the weekends, when I’m not as diligent, but still try not to pig-out. Some days go really well, while other days stink – but more better days than bad ones overall.

5. Taking pictures of my son. Ever since I got the new camera, I’ve been working on improving my photo skills. I don’t proclaim to be the best of photographers (I have this friend to do that), but I used to be pretty good at it. The new camera has given me some of my confidence back. Although, once I feel more comfortable, I really need to work on more of my manual focus skills again.

That is about it for me for now… Unless you want to count things such as snuggling with my son, spending time with the Hubby, playing with Supercat, listening to music and podcasts on my commute, etc…

Give me a month or so, and I’ll be addicted to trying to find time to see any of the television shows I like. The new season starts when, again?

Anyhow, I need to tag a couple of people. I think I’ll tag Mrs. V, my adorable, older sister, who has just started another school year, and Mr. Geek, who appears to be obsessed with Rugby (although maybe this recent injury has cured him).

Continue on… I’m no longer “it.”

Edited to add: Here is an honorary tag, since she was upset that I didn’t tag her during the initial post. My good friend from college, and the person who forced me to get a tattoo (seriously – she twisted my arm and everything, and then I was kidnapped and forced to go to my first real concert with her that same night!), Tendrils. Please stop crying, Tendrils. You’ll scare your students.

Well, except for #2 (wishing you speedy healing, by the way), these are pretty great things to be obsessive about…that is, if one must obsess about something. :)

And although I would miss you if you were to take a blogcation, I totally understand the need. I think all of us benefit from stepping back and just taking it easy for a little while.

    Have a good day!

    1. blogging. I vowed to not blog on the weekend. I have managed to not post on the weekend, but I still read posts and check my comments.
    2. milk. I crave milk. If I go too long without it, i get cranky.
    3. my camera. If I’m out and about without it, I feel like I’m missing an appendage
    4. espresso. Need it. Once in the morning, once at night.
    5. dark chocolate. A square of dark chocolate with the night time espresso. If there are no more bars of dark chocolate in their basket on the kitchen island, I panic. Sad, but true.

Oooo another touchy subject in my house 8O

Mrs Geek could probably list about 50 let alone 5 of my obsessions that drive her crazy.

    I’ll get on it :)

Okay, to anyone upset I didn’t tag them (TENDRILS), I had to only pick two people. (And I figured Mr. Geek would tag you – AND HE HAS.)

But I’ll ad you as an honorary tag…

Everyone else – if you want to do this on your blog, let me know and I’ll add you to my honorary tags…

blogging is for sure addictive. healthy? Maybe. I’m still not sure.

Blogging is addictive. I read somewhere that the internet actually has addictive properties because when the human brain is overstimulated, it tends to want MORE.

I’m addicted to blogging too. :D … And have been for many years now! *lol*

As for the fruit, I would be in trouble if I ate that much. I love fruit, but it doesn’t love me! ;)

Okay, I’ll get to this soon. I just finished a rather labor intensive meme, and well, I save this for another day. :)

    Great list!

Glad I have so many partners in addictions! I feel a bit better.
