Little Dude has a milk allergy

We just heard from the doctor’s office last night, and the verdict is in per his RAST results – Little Dude is allergic to milk. Cow-based milk products and goat-based milk products.

It appears he is okay with soy, though, so we do have some other options as we introduce various foods.

We are bummed, as both the hubby and I love so many things that contain dairy (cheese, yogurt, ice cream, chocolate, etc.), as well as milk itself, but we know we can work with this. And, there is always that chance that he will outgrow this allergy later (which we both hope!).

Discovering this, I started reading through some of the labels of the various foods we are introducing and, this one totally surprised me, there is milk in the teething biscuits. To me this means there is probably milk in various other things I would have never thought of, so looks like I will be reading A LOT of labels.

I’m attaching his latest video. It is of Little Dude chattering up a storm after dinner last night. And yes, for those of you who wonder by some of the looks he gives the camera – the britches were full when we changed him after the video.
